3．4补充时态词语

        英语中有时态变化，而汉语没有。因此，汉译时要反映动作发生的时间，就需要添加表示时间的副词或助词，以便和原文相一致。例如：
1．This electric motor working in full under the action of heavy currently．
在强电流的作用下，这台电机正以满荷运行。
2．By three O’clock this afternoon，the fuel in the furnace will have burned up．
到今天下午三点，炉内材料将燃尽。
3．This electric generator has been working for several hours．
这台发电机已运转了几个小时。

3．5增补概括性或分述性词语

        英语中在列举事实时很少运用概括性词语，在分述事物时也是如此；但汉语则恰恰相反。因此汉译时应根据情况补充一些概括性或分述性词语。例如：
1．The chief effects of electric currents are the magnetic，heating，and chemical effects．
电流的效应有磁效应、热效应和化学效应三种。
2．There are three basic ways of producing or storing electricity：by generator，by battery，or by accumulator．
电的生产和储存基本方法有三种：一种是用发电机；一种是用电池；一种是用蓄电池。
3．Electric machines are composed of stator and rotor．
电机是由定子和转子两部分构成的。
4．Based upon the relationship between magnetism and electricity are motors and generators
电动机和发动机是以磁和电这两者之间的关系为基础的。

4 准确性原则

        科技英语主要描述科学进展、发明创造和研究成果，其句式用词简捷，准确，常常包含着某些“条件、让步、原因、并列、总结、结果”等意义。汉译时应把这些意义表达出来，保持原文的准确性。例如：
1．The mutual flux is in iron，subject to permeability changes and SO mutual inductance M varies with the flux leve1．
由于互磁通路经铁磁磁路，其经历导磁率的变化，所以互感M随磁通地饱和度变化而变化。
2． The best lubricant cannot maintain oil films between the surfaces of engineering gears．
即使是最好的润滑油，在啮合处也不能保住油膜。
3．A new kind of computer-cheap，small，light is attracting increasing attention．
一种新型电脑正越来越引起人们的注意，它造价底、体积小、重量轻。
4．Speed and reliability are the chief advantage of the electronic computer．
速度快、可靠性高，是电子计算机
