    Installation, operation and maintenance regulations for double tube melt lines
    A general installation regulations      mark item with cross when done
    The installation of double tube melt lines (jacketed) must be carried out according to the generally accepted rules of pipe work and vessel engineering as well as the current state of the art. The relevant laws, rules, national and international codes as well as accident prevention regulations must be observed in all cases. The installation of pipe work may be carried out only by approved specialist companies and by qualified specialist personnel.

    Standard installation instructions:
    1. Pay attention to instructions from drawings, isometrics, computations, calculations (especially stress calculation) and documentation (e.g. transport protection, slinging gear and singing positions, weight, point of gravity, erection and installation sequence, cold spring, erection impacts, alignment positions, anchoring/guiding and system fixed points, fixing system, heat carrier circuits, tests and acceptance testing, inspection etc.)
    2. The complete site personnel must participate in safety instruction and erection instruction training before start up installation.
    3. Check components for loading, storage or transport damage (at outside and inside)
    4. Check delivery for completeness (see part and summary lists and delivery note by manufacturer.)
    5. Check the erection location (e.g. access, accessibility, foundations, pipe bridges, etc.)
    6. Prepare erection(e.g. lifting gear, slinging gear, tools, provision of power, freedom of site for commencing work, approval for hot works, etc,) see also additional site and construction provisions.
    7. Arrangement of the main components (reactors, vessels, tanks, pumps, filters, heat exchangers, coolers, main valves, etc.) in accordance with drawing. Pay attention to relevant coordinates and nozzle orientation.
    8. Ensure static stability of main equipment (e.g. anchoring, fixtures, etc.). See additional information on equipment drawing and line isometrics.
    9. positioning of the double pipe components according to drawing (pay attention to instructions under point1)
    10. Consider necessary minimum line slope if applicable (see drawing and isometric).
    11. Remove transport protection and loading aids if applicable.
    12. Assembly of the supports. Pay attention for correct arrangement and type (e.g. springs, sliding support, guiding support and restricted guidance or fix points) according to drawing or isometric.
    13. Where supports are arranged at the piping system, spacers must be provided between core and jacket pipe.
    14. Adjust spring supports if available or necessary, pay attention to special installation instruction of manufacture.
    15. Consider erection sequence of double pipe system. Normally fit from fix point to adjustment length and field weld. At first lines with biggest diameters, then smaller lines from top to bottom.
    16. Creation of the pipe connections and joints of the inner tube. Welding according to welding instructions. Pay attention to minimized root penetration acc. Welding process sheet for inner pipe welds.
    17. Installation of adjusting lengths if available and necessary. Erection always from the fixed point in the direction of the adjusting length.
    18. Consider cold spring at inner pipe if shown at stress calculation and/or isometric. Note: cold spring has to be applied where specified in isometric at core and jacket pipe!
    19. Installation of inner pipe static mixers.
    20. Creation of the product flange connections (pay attention to specified bolt torques). Pay attention to correct installation of new and undamaged seals, bolts and nuts. Use high temperature grease at all threads.
    21. fit valves, coolers, ect., install equipment and components tension-free. Pay attention to special installation instruction of manufacture.
    22. Performance of the tests of the product line (e.g. penetration radiation test, surface crack test, leakage test, pressure testing, radiographic examination, etc.) according to the relevant testing plan and testing regulations for the project.
    23. During the (the cold water) pressure test make sure that the pipe work components are uncoupled from the system. Lock the springs and re-release after test is completed. Acceptance of tests by qualified experts and, if required, by independent agencies.
    24. Creation of the pipe connections/joints of the outer tube. Welding according to welding instructions and welding process sheets for outer pipe
