比定冠词更为常见。在广告标题中即使是说明招聘一名人员也无须用不定冠词，如：Computer 0perator Wanted．既然在“operator”之后没有用“S”，那么读者看了也应当知道是单数，只招一名而无多。本来英语中的“a few”是个固定搭配，指“一些，几个”等，去掉不定冠词“a”则指“几乎没有”，但有一则广告偏偏把“a”省略掉：with few years’ experience in supervising highly qualified technicians．在这里，“few”后面的“years”已用复数，读者看了也会明白“few”不是指“几乎没有”，故省略也无妨大局。下面几个例子均是在开头省略了不定冠词：

        A．Good command of western accounting．

        B．University degree in information technology•

        C．Permanent Beijing resident．

        4．省略从句：在英语招聘广告中，极少会出现主语、宾语、状语等从句，偶尔可见定语从句，也往往会省略，即把定语从句改成过去分词(词组)或现在分词(词组)做定语。如：

        A．W e welcome applications from those personnel working in foreign companies．此句是在“those personnel”后面省略了构成定语从句的“who are”或由“who work”改写而来的。

        B．Local resident living in Beijing downtown．此句是在“local resident”之后省略了“who is”或由“ who lives”改写而来的。

        C．University graduate holding a master degree in engineering，这句中的“holding”是从“who holds”改写而来的。

        三、活用各种短语

        英语招聘广告经常会灵活运用各种短语，以求言简意赅。这些短语和省略句一样，多是用来说明工作职责和应聘资格(要求)两项内容。通常运用的短语有下面这些：

        1．名词短语(Noun Phrase)，如：

        A．25 to 35 years of age．

        B．At least 2 years’ relevant working experience in Joint Venture company．

        C．Ability to work in a team under pressure．

        2．形容词短语(Adjective Phrase)，如：

        A．Willing to travel frequently to rural areas and cities in mainland China．

        B．Available to work for a foreign company in Shanghai．

        C．Fluent in written and oral English．

        3．介词短语(Prepositional Phrase)，如：Qualifications：

        With an age above thirty．

        With excellent English，Mandarin and Cantonese．

        With 5 years’ experience in business management．

        4．不定式短语(Infinitive Phrase)，如：Job Duties：

        To assist in promoting our plastic products to the PRC customers．

        To collect prevailing market information on products and potential client．
