1．4 条件句(conditional adverbial clause)
针灸汉英翻译过程中，也使用条件句。条件句的使用主要是用在异常情况处理、预防及针灸注意事项当中。
        例 10  医者在针刺过程中，发现患者面色苍白，出汗或诉说 头晕时，这是 晕针的表现 ，应及时采取处理措施。
        During the treatment，if there appear some symptoms of fainting，such as pallor， sweating or dizziness，management should be taken promptly．
        例 11  滞针，若因单 向捻转而致者，则须反向捻转。
        The stuck needle，suppose it is due to excessive rotation in one direction，will be  released by twirling  in the opposite direction．
        1．5 祈使句(imperative sentence)
        在针灸汉英翻译实践也常使用祈使句，在针法和灸法中医生该如何做，不该如何做，都应该清楚明白、浅显易懂、没有歧义。因此在英译时就需使用祈使句。
        13例  立即停止针刺，将针取出。
        Stop needling immediately and withdraw the needles．
        例 14 嘱患者放松，不要紧张。
        Tell the patient to relax ．
        1．6 句子结构(structure)
        汉语高度概括，简洁易懂，常使用排比句和并列句。英文常使用复合句，且常出现以 it引导的句式 。
        例 15 取胃之募穴和足 阳明经穴为主，针用泻法，以消食化滞，和胃止痛。
        The Front—Mu point of the stomach an d the point of Stomach M eridian  are treated with red ucing  man ipulation to remove food retention to pacify the stomach an d relieve pain．
        例 16 肾主骨生髓充脑，其华在发。
        The kidney dominates bone．manufactures marrow to fiU up the brain an d man ifests in the hair．
        例 17  过饥、过饱、醉酒、劳累过度 时，不宜立即进行针刺。
        It is advisable not to give acupuncture treatment to those who are either hung ry，overeaten，drunk or overfatigued ．
        1．7 文体特点(style)
        大量使用专业术语是科技文体的基本特征。为了概括社会和自然现象、揭示客观事物的发展规律， 科技文体必须使用表意确切的专业术语…1。针灸文体使用许多表意确切的专业术语，它们同日常生活中同义的词语有些细微的差别。在英译的时候，译者务必注意它们在文体上和在词汇层面上的差别。
        例 18 望闻问切
        Inspection， auscultation an d olfaction， inquiring，an d palpation．
        例 19  中风是 以突然 昏仆，不省人事，或半身不遂、语言不利、口角歪斜为主的一种疾病。因其起病急骤、变化多端，与风性善行数变的特征相似，故类比称为“中风”。
        Wind stroke is an emergency case manifested by falling down in a fit with loss of consciousness，or hemiplegia．slurred speech and deviated mouth．It is characterized by  abrupt onset with  pathological changes varying quickly like the wind，from which the term “wind stroke”comes．
        从以上 2个译句可以看出，译文都采用的是针灸学中的专业术语 ，它们同 日常生活的一些同义词还是有差别的。甚至连我们常说的“望诊、闻诊、问诊、切诊”都分别译成“inspection，auscultation—olfaction，inquiring，palpation”等专业术语，而不是分别译成“looking，hearing—smelling ，asking 和 touching” 等日常词汇。
